Delroy A. Belizaire-Malcolm

In 2019, I asked my son Delroy a simple but powerful question: Would you one day like to play a significant role in the church? Without hesitation, his answer was yes.

​

That answer reflected a heart already rooted in service. Delroy's ministry journey began long before that moment. Since his toddler years, he has been actively involved in church life through Sunday Bible School, the children's choir, and later serving faithfully as a Junior Deacon at our former church family, a congregation we continue to love and maintain close friendships with to this day.

​

Delroy possesses a quiet strength that sets him apart. Often the calmest and most reserved person in the room, he does not speak simply to be heard. Instead, when he speaks, his words carry purpose, wisdom, and insight far beyond his years. There have been moments when adults have sought his perspective and walked away encouraged by the maturity of the advice he offered. His ability to listen, observe, and thoughtfully respond is one of the qualities that makes him a natural leader.

As his mother, it has been one of the greatest blessings of my life to watch God shape him into the young man he is becoming. I have witnessed his spiritual growth, his unwavering character, and his commitment to living with integrity. He naturally demonstrates leadership, exercises remarkable emotional self-control, and has a unique ability to positively influence his peers through his actions and example.

At just 17 years old, Delroy's accomplishments reflect the discipline and excellence with which he approaches every area of life. He maintains an outstanding 3.90 GPA, has earned consistent perfect attendance throughout his academic career, and has served on his high school's Student Council since the ninth grade. His teachers regularly share how much they appreciate having him in their classrooms, often highlighting his meaningful participation, respectful demeanor, and strong work ethic.

Beyond academics and ministry, Delroy is also a personal trainer, demonstrating his commitment to health, discipline, and helping others achieve their goals. His ambition and professionalism have always been evident. His Aunt Aisha often jokes that "he was born with a briefcase," a lighthearted way of saying that some people seem destined from an early age to carry themselves with purpose and vision.

That observation reminds me of something Delroy told me when he was only eleven years old. With complete confidence, he said, "Mom, call me the Classic Man." I laughed and replied, "Okay, Classic Man, you got it." Looking back now, I realize there was more truth in those words than either of us knew at the time. Even then, he carried himself with a level of maturity, confidence, and character that continues to define him today.

​

Among his friends, Delroy is known as the dependable one, the trusted friend, and what many affectionately call "the chill dad of the group. He is looked to, to be the security at the party for his friends. " He is the person others can count on for stability, wisdom, encouragement, and support.

​

I am confident that God is continuing to prepare him for even greater opportunities to serve and lead. His foundation of faith, commitment to excellence, and servant's heart position him to make a lasting impact wherever God calls him.

For Minister Delroy Belizaire Malcolm one thing is already clear: he is a young man of faith, character, leadership, and purpose, committed to serving God and positively influencing the lives of those around him.
